This option turns the current selection into a dynamic style that you can reuse. Formatting text manually and then turning it into a style is often easier than designing a style "from scratch" in the styles definition dialogs.

If no text is selected the function uses the attributes of the paragraph in which the cursor is currently located, including the paragraph attributes and the text attributes at the current cursor position.
