The screen capture tool can also be used to extract text from the selected area and insert it in your project as plain text. In addition to this, you can extract text from any image already in the editor by right-clicking on it and selecting OCR from the context menu.

Using OCR with the capture tool

Click in the editor where you want to insert the captured text. Then select the capture tool in the Project tab, then select Capture Text from the menu displayed. The text will be copied to the clipboard and inserted at the current cursor position.

Language: You can select the languages installed in Windows as system languages. If only one language is installed there will be no additional choices.

Extracting text from images in the editor

You can use Help+Manual's OCR function to extract the text from any image in the editor. Just right-click on the image and select Picture > Extract Text from Picture from the context menu displayed.

Note that the extraction language is set automatically, based on the last time you used the screen capture function in the capture tool. To change the language you need to use the capture tool again.
