Stacking elements:
When you add elements to your picture you will want to control whether objects are on top of or below other objects. There are a number of ways to do this:
•With the menu in the tab.
•With the context menu that appears when you right-click on a selected element or multiple elements.
•With the context menu that appears when you right-click an element in the list on the left.
•By dragging the name of an element in the list and dropping it BETWEEN elements (blue line) in another position in the list. (Dropping ONTO another element nests the object inside that element – see further below for details.)
Select one or more elements (SHIFT + Click) then select the Arrange menu to change their position in relation to one the other elements in the slide. Alternatively, drag and drop in the list.
Aligning elements:
The menu also has functions for aligning multiple elements in relation to each other. To use it, first select multiple elements with SHIFT+Click (this also works in the list). Then select how you want to align them with the align options in the menu.
Grouping elements:
Once you have arranged elements as you want to have them you can group them with the tool in the tab. They can then be manipulated together in the same way as single elements. They can always be ungrouped and edited separately, however.
•Drag a selection box around the elements (this also selects elements hidden by other elements) to select them. Then click on to combine them to a single element. If Slippy Canvas is on you need to hold down SHIFT to drag a selection.
•You can also use SHIFT+Click to select multiple elements for grouping.
•You can ungroup elements with the tool, that is available both in the right-click context menu and in the Home tab.
•To edit grouped elements without ungrouping: just select the element in the list on the left. Then you can edit it normally without removing it from the group. Click anywhere else to deselect after editing.
Locking elements:
Once you have finished working on an element or group you can lock it to prevent accidental changes. Just select the element or group, then select the tool (padlock in the Home tab) or with Lock in the right-click context menu.
