When you are documenting something with screenshots you frequently need to make sure that sensitive information in the image is permanently and securely hidden. You can do this with the Blur and Pixelate tools in SnipSVG's Image Effects.
Pixelate, Blur and Permanent Crop are secure
Even if you publish your images as an editable SVG, information you obscure in your screenshots with the Pixelate and Blur tools cannot be recovered. Instead of just applying an overlay, applying the effects permanently changes the bitmap image inside the SVG. It cannot be restored to its original state, even if someone extracts the bitmap from the SVG.
The same also applies when you crop a bitmap image with the Permanent Crop option. This cuts out everything outside the crop frame permanently. Even when you export to SVG, the cropped part of the image cannot be recovered.
Obscuring information with Pixelate and Blur
Double-click on the bitmap image in your SnipSVG picture, then choose the Effect tab on the right to open the Image Effects. Then click on Add Effect in the Image Effects panel and choose Pixelate or Blur. This adds an effect frame to the image, which you can then adjust and format.
Using Permanent Crop to remove parts of an image
1.Double-click on the image or select the Edit tool in the top right corner of the image. The Crop tab in the Formatting Pane on the right is selected automatically.
2.Adjust and drag the crop frame with the corner handles. Hold down SHIFT and drag the corners to maintain the aspect ratio (relation of width to height).
3.Close with Crop Permanently button ❷ for a permanent crop.
